Summary: The Senior Plant Controller is a key member of the plant
leadership team, overseeing all plant financial activities. This
role ensures the accuracy and integrity of plant financials,
provides cost visibility, and supports strategic decision-making
through detailed cost, labor, and inventory analyses. The ideal
candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of leading
cross-functional financial initiatives in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Financial
Management & Reporting Lead month-end and year-end closing
activities for plant operations Prepare and analyze monthly plant
financial statements and variance reports Forecast and manage plant
budgets and projections, including cost improvement targets Partner
with operations leadership to drive financial performance and
accountability Analyze plant and SKU-level profitability, margin
trends, and operational KPIs to support pricing and investment
decisions. Inventory Control Oversee physical inventory counts and
cycle counts; ensure inventory accuracy Analyze and reconcile
inventory variances, including raw materials, WIP, and finished
goods Implement internal controls and best practices to improve
inventory management Product Costing Oversee cost development,
absorption costing, and analysis of variances (labor, material, and
overhead). Maintain the cost system and update the bill of
materials and routings as needed Analyze product margins and
recommend pricing or cost-saving actions Monitor material, labor,
and overhead cost variances and perform root cause analysis Labor &
Cost Analysis Conduct labor efficiency and productivity analysis;
support direct/indirect labor tracking Provide detailed cost
analysis for production, logistics, and support departments
Identify trends and opportunities for operational efficiency and
cost reduction Leadership & Collaboration Act as the financial
liaison between plant operations and corporate finance Collaborate
with production and supply chain teams to improve cost control,
scrap reduction, and throughput reporting. Develop financial acumen
across the plant leadership team Support internal and external
audits as required Ideal Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred) 10
years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 3 years
in a plant controller or similar role Strong knowledge of GAAP,
cost accounting, and manufacturing processes Proficiency in ERP
systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred Competencies: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Business
Central is a plus Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous
improvement initiatives Exposure to standard costing, job order
costing, or process costing environments Familiarity with SOX
compliance and internal controls
