.I. General Purpose of PositionPerforming operations in a specific cell, adjusting and cleaning the equipment of that cell and looking for opportunities to contribute to the success of Metalsa Roanoke. All technicians are responsible for the shipment of high quality rails in the accordance with the Metalsa Roanoke product schedule and exceeding customer expectations.II. Essential Functions of the Position1. Safety is a fundamental value at Metalsa and a component of all positions within the company. Therefore, underlying each position is the prerequisite to be able to perform the essential functions of one's position safely and in such a way as not to endanger one's self or others. This requirement is consistent with the company's commitment to operate a drug-free workplace and in keeping with the provisions set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act.Other essential functions of the position include the following\:2. Ability to read and use a scale, tape measure etc.3. All Technicians must have ability to interact with computers, PLC's and computer based programs that are used to run most machines in the facility.4. All Technicians must be capable of performing machine set-ups both logically and mechanically. This would include items such as punch and die changes, plasma cutter and welder consumable changes and machine parameter adjustments. In addition, the ability to learn and perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Autonomous Maintenance activities defined for each cell which include, amongst others, inspections, cleaning, lubing, machine adjustments, operating consumables change, etc..5. All technicians are responsible for housekeeping, 5s, quality measures, minor adjustments, continuous improvement ideas, and safety checks in the facility.6. Please refer to the work instruction for specific duties related to individual work cells.7. The aforementioned represent essential functions of the position described, i.e., the primary responsibilities required of the position. The responsibilities and tasks outlined above are not exhaustive and may be changed as determined by the needs of the company. Therefore, it shall be understood that each position also includes all other duties which may be assigned by the company..I. Academic and Experience CriteriaEducationHigh school diploma or GED 2 year college degree (preferred)Forklift certification (preferred)Experience3-5 years of relevant experience in an automatedmanufacturing facility (preferred)Basic computer knowledge II. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to visually focus.
