will provide support to the Owensboro health account. They are a
nonprofit system with over 200 providers at more than 20 locations,
3 outpatient facilities, a certified medical fitness facility, a
surgical weight loss center and the Mitchell Memorial Cancer

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday.
Employees are required to have flexibility to work our normal
business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given
the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is
located at 2200 E. Parish Ave, Owensboro, KY 42303.
We offer 4-6 weeks of onsite training.
*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth
Group's Telecommuter Policy.
Primary Responsibilities:
Verifies coverage and eligibility in real-time for multiple
departments throughout the organization.
Verifies insurance coverage presented by the patients.
Complete tasks that fall to the patient, claim edits, and account
work queues.
Communicates effectively with the community, professionals,
insurance companies, and external agencies.
Supports Case Management Staff for current patient issues.
Communicates closely with financial advocates to resolve issues
that require patient input.
Resolves issues related to eligibility and coverage identified by
billing staff to ensure claim payments.
Participates in maintaining the payer database in EPIC.
Supplies educators with examples of coverage discrepancies used to
assist in the continued training of Access staff.
Problem solves and troubleshoots system errors and reporting issues
and/or routes to system administrators.
Assists with special projects and duties as assigned.
Performs all functions related to registration/admitting via
computer.

should also enjoy working with people and have the communication
skills necessary to build strong relationships with our
customers.

Required Qualification:
High school diploma / GED (or higher)
Ability to work 8:00am - 4:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given the
business need, to work occasional overtime.
Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this
role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster
doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth

well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of

Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical
terminology
ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
Reside within Owensboro, KY
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is
separated from other living areas and provides information
privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if
applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group
approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing
high-speed internet service
