Wendell Foster has a career opening as Community Engagement
Specialist! Reporting to the Vice President of Development and
Community Engagement, this role supports the mission of Wendell
Foster by promoting awareness through relationship building,
educating the community, and marketing Wendell Foster programs and
services. These activities will allow people to have greater access
to programs and services which will help fulfill their dreams and
potentials.

What matters to us:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in marketing, sales, business
development, fundraising, communication, or related field
Grant writing experience is preferred
Experience working with people with developmental and intellectual
disabilities is highly preferred
Experience in the planning and executing of large special
events
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
Extensive knowledge of community resources
Excellent networking, training, communication, public speaking, and
interpersonal skills.
Outgoing personality with high level of comfort meeting new
people
Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
Position Responsibilities:
1. - - - - - - - -Be knowledgeable about community resources and
programs.
2. - - - - - - - -Develop, identify, and maintain working
relationships with community referral sources and local media
outlets.
3. - - - - - - - -Act as the brand guardian by ensuring brand
implementation and enforcing brand consistency throughout the
organization.
4. - - - - - - - -Facilitate communication and relationship
building with community groups and/or committees.
5. - - - - - - - -Actively participate in organizational and local
networking committees.
6. - - - - - - - -Make presentations to individuals and groups (Ex:
Civic groups, No-R-Word Campaign).
7. - - - - - - - -Conduct outreach activities for the
organization.
8. - - - - - - - -Participate in the education of the community,
service providers, and other interested parties with respect to
organizational services and programs.
9. - - - - - - - -Assist in marketing of programs and services at
Wendell Foster.
10. - - - - - -Assist the Development & Community Engagement
Department in the planning and implementation of special events
(Ex: Golf Scramble, Annual Dinner Auction, Wendell Foster Half
Marathon)
11. - - - - - -Drive the creation of direct mail projects,
including graphics, content, editing, printing, and
distribution.
12. - - - - - -Plan, lead, and execute special events (Ex: First
Responders BBQ)
13. - - - - - -Assist with marketing or events and services using a
variety of mediums.
14. - - - - - -Assist with donor relations.
