Job Description:
Position Summary The Lifeguard works under the supervision of
the Assistant Director of Programs. The Lifeguard will be
responsible for monitoring and supervising the pool facility and
enforcing University policies and procedures. Availability: Up to
20 positions effective pril 1, 2018 FOAP : 350010-40411-61400-700
Essential Functions - A good level of physical fitness is essential
to this position. - Ability to a pass swim test. - Ability to
communicate effectively and efficiently (both in person and in
writing). - Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate
manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the
public. - Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making and
personal interactions. - Ability to accept responsibility for
decisions and personal actions. - Ability to follow directions and
complete assigned tasks. - Ability to follow APSU guidelines,
policies, procedures, and emergency preparedness. - Ability to
maintain confidentiality. - Ability to demonstrate good
interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with students,
University personnel, and guests. - Ability to provide lifesaving
and/or water-safety techniques for all participants. - Attendance
and punctuality are essential to this position.
