Job Description American Consultants is seeking a per diem / prn nurse RN Telemetry for a per diem / prn nursing job in Louisville, Kentucky. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Duration: Ongoing - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Per Diem American Consultants is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with Telemetry (Tele) and/or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience to support multiple hospitals in the Louisville, Kentucky area. These roles require strong cardiac monitoring skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to care for moderately complex to higher-acuity patients in acute care settings. Nurses must be adaptable, team-oriented, and capable of meeting Norton Healthcare credentialing standards. Nurses may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week based on availability and facility need. Essential Responsibilities (Tele & PCU) - Provide direct patient care to telemetry and progressive care patients - Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips - Care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and step-down level care - Administer IV medications, cardiac drips (within scope), and treatments per physician orders - Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments - Recognize and respond to rapid clinical changes and emergencies - Accurately document care in hospital EMR systems - Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital teams - Float within scope and competency as required - Maintain compliance with Kentucky Board of Nursing and facility policies Required Qualifications - Active, unrestricted Kentucky RN License (Compact license accepted if applicable) - Minimum 1–2 years recent Telemetry and/or PCU experience in an acute care hospital - Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience managing step-down or higher-acuity patients preferred - Experience with hospital-based EMR systems - Ability to meet all Norton Healthcare credentialing requirements Required Certifications - BLS (AHA) - ACLS (AHA) - NIH Stroke Scale Certification - EKG Competency Required Health & Compliance Documentation Candidates must be able to provide or complete the following: Clinical & Health Requirements - TB Test (2-step, blood test, or chest X-ray) - Annual Physical - 10-Panel Drug Screen - MMR (Titer or Vaccination) - Varicella (Titer or Vaccination) - Hepatitis B (Vaccination record or Titer) - Tdap (Vaccination or Titer) - Flu Vaccine (or approved declination if applicable) - COVID-19 Vaccine record or approved exemption - N95 Mask Fit Test - Color Blind Screening Background & Registry Checks - Kentucky Statewide Background Check - OIG Check - SAM Check - Kentucky Adult Caregiver Misconduct Registry Facility Requirements - Norton Facility Orientation - Norton Online Learning Modules - Skills Validation - RN Self-Assessment - TB Baseline Risk Screening Schedule & Structure - W2 Employment Status - PRN scheduling flexibility - Up to 40 hours per week based on availability - Day and Night (NOC) shifts available Compensation - Weekly pay About American Consultants American Consultants partners with leading healthcare systems to provide highly qualified clinical professionals.
