Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years inpatient acute RN experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Two years of acute care RN experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are essential responsibilities of the RN. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is part of the RN's role. The RN applies the caring processes of the established model of care. Assessment and reassessment of patients are performed per policy or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised by the RN as indicated. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is key.
