Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Bowling Green, KY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,752 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking skills Self-motivated Description: The ICU unit has 16 beds. The patient ratio is typically 2:1, with at times a 3:1 ratio. The unit is staffed with medical technicians and, depending on census, a technician may also be available. Types of equipment used include Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring devices. Documentation is completed using a Meditech system. Weekly scheduling requires 36 hours. There is a floating policy in place that requires staff to float in rotation with core staffing. Certifications required for this position include ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH. The dress code allows scrubs of any color, but denim, capris, or camo are not permitted. Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. The work environment promotes flexibility with scheduling and a team-oriented atmosphere. The unit has a mix of experienced staff for both day and night shifts. Recognition includes initiatives such as making blankets for hospice patients and receiving the Daisy Award for excellence in nursing care.
