Skills/Experience: Cardiac PCU experience CABG experience
Description: This position does not allow block scheduling. Full
weeks of requested time off are not currently approved. The unit
specializes in post-op cardiac surgeries including coronary bypass
graft and valve surgeries. It treats conditions such as chest pain,
dysrhythmia, and congestive heart failure. The nurse will manage
patients pre and post-cardiac catheterization. Patient ratios are
approximately 4:1 or 5:1, and may increase to 6:1 if floated to
other units. The nurse will utilize various equipment including IV
pumps, chest tubes, and pacing wires. The electronic medical record
system used is Cerner. Floating to other PCU or Med Surg units is
required. Candidates should be competent in post-catheterization
sheath removal. Experience with cardiac medications such as
amiodarone, Cardizem, primacor, dobutamine, dopamine, and heparin
is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a team-oriented
personality. Dress code is galaxy blue scrubs. The unit consists of
16 beds. This is a great opportunity to work in a recognized
