Job Description:
Position Summary Applications are invited for the position of
Assistant Professor of African American literature. This is a
full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2024.
Preference given to candidates with demonstrated ability to teach a
wide range of African American Literature courses. We especially
invite candidates able to contribute to courses in Post-colonial
Literature, Women’s and Gender Studies, or African American
Studies. Likewise, we seek candidates that demonstrate respect for
the diverse teaching and learning needs of students. Successful
candidates will exhibit the ability to effectively work with
colleagues to support the mission of related academic units, and
co-curricular centers such as the African American Cultural Center.
