Job Details Description Manager of Accounting Job Summary: The
Manager of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
accounting operations of the company, ensuring the accurate and
timely processing of financial transactions. This role will help
manage the accounting team’s day-to-day activities while providing
support to the Senior Director of Accounting in the development and
implementation of accounting policies and internal controls. The
Manager of Accounting will play a key role in managing month-end
close processes, financial reporting, and identifying opportunities
for process improvements and automation.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting,
Master’s degree preferred. CPA required. A minimum of 5-7 years’
accounting experience, including experience in a leadership role
within accounting or finance. Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and
accounting processes. Understanding of SEC reporting requirements,
including the preparation and review of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
Experience with accounting software, preferably JD Edwards, SAP, or
similar ERP systems. Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and
internal controls. Strong organizational, leadership, and
management skills, with experience guiding teams in achieving
accounting goals. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to
interpret complex financial data. Strong communication skills, both
verbal and written, with the ability to present financial
information to senior leadership. Ability to prioritize workload,
multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A
proactive and hands-on approach to identifying challenges and
implementing solutions. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other
financial software tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Director of Accounting in leading the accounting
team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all accounting
functions, including journal entries, general ledger
reconciliations, and financial reporting. Supervise the month-end
closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded
accurately and in a timely manner. Assist in the review of journal
entries and general ledger reconciliations. Assist in the
preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Support the development and implementation of internal controls and
accounting policies to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and
Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Identify and implement process
improvements, focusing on automation and efficiency. Provide
leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, ensuring that
team members are properly trained and have the resources they need
to succeed. Work closely with other departments, including finance,
tax, and internal audit, to ensure financial data is accurate and
that internal controls are being followed. Support internal and
external audits by providing necessary documentation and
explanations of accounting processes. Ensure timely resolution of
audit issues and implement corrective actions as needed. Assist in
the execution of special accounting projects and initiatives as
required, including supporting the Senior Director of Accounting
with strategic planning, analysis, and reporting. About Churchill
